Strainers

Strainers are frequently used piping items when it comes to separating or filtering solids from liquids. Virago Valves – part of the Gidts & Feldman Group – has long been a specialist in the supply of filtration units as well as y-type and basket strainers.

Due to a growing demand for more types of strainers, Virago Valves has recently greatly expanded its range of products in this area. The standard range of strainers/filters consists of:

• Y-type strainers, welded forged or cast steel version
• Welded single basket filters
• Welded double basket filters
• Tee-type strainers
• Basket strainers
• Temporary conical strainers (‘witch hats’)
• Special filters and strainers, including resin traps

Designs are according to ANSI, ASME, ISPESL, CODAP, BS 5500, DIN I AD-Merkblatter and RINA.

Besides the standard materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel, the filters can be supplied in non-ferrous and exotic alloys such as Duplex, 6MO and titanium.
